Specific Initiatives:Conducting comprehensive accident recovery training every year

Specific Initiatives
Conducting comprehensive accident recovery training every year

We conduct comprehensive accident recovery training every year, which simulates the occurrence of a large-scale accident or disaster, and involves all departments participating in activities such as rescuing injured customers, guiding customers to safety, and repairing damaged areas. In fiscal 2024, the training was held at Hagurazaki Depot.
In addition, employees from departments other than the railway department also participated in the evacuation training, and confirmed the procedures for guiding customers in an emergency.
For other safety initiatives and safety management systems, please see the Safety Report.

Specific Initiatives
Countermeasures against heavy rain disasters in areas at risk of slope collapse

In light of the increasing severity of heavy rain disasters in recent years, we are carrying out slope countermeasure construction work as needed to ensure safe and secure rail transport. By adopting the most suitable construction method based on the topography and weather conditions and strengthening preventive measures before disasters occur, we are striving to improve the stability of transport and the safety of the region. We will continue to contribute to ensuring safe and secure rail transport.

Specific initiatives:Installing in-car security cameras in all vehicles

Specific Initiatives
In-car security cameras installed in all vehicles

To improve security and prevent crime while using trains with greater peace of mind, we have been installing in-car security cameras in commuter cars since June 2023. Each car is fitted with four cameras, which are installed above the doors. Stickers are also affixed near the camera locations to raise awareness among passengers. Installation will be completed on 260 cars by fiscal year 2024, and we aim to have the cameras in operation on all cars, including limited express cars and Koyasan Cable Car, by the end of fiscal year 2028.

We held the Nankai Hospitality Contest, in which participants role-played everyday tasks, such as supporting customers who require assistance, and competed in these skills. This contest was significantly revamped in 2024 with the aim of improving the hospitality skills and motivation of railway staff. We will continue our efforts to ensure that Nankai Group remains the company of choice for customers.
