Information of surrounding facilities
In September 1900, when the section between Dotonbori Station and Oshoji Station on the Koya Railway (currently between Shiomibashi Station and Sakaihigashi Station) opened, Kizugawa station opened as a key point for land and water transportation. This area is said to have come to be called 'Kizu' because when Prince Shotoku built Shitennoji Temple, he gathered timbers(Kizu) from all over the country. The Kizu River, which is also the name of the station, branches off from the Tosabori River and flows into Osaka Bay.
