Information of surrounding facilities
Ashiharacho station opened in November 1912, which was 12 years after the Koya Railway opened. The name of the station is said to be derived from the name of the location at that time, "Namba Ashiharamachi".
Onami Bridge, which is located about 500 meters northwest of the station, was completed in 1937. There are no bridge piers because large sailing ships pass frequently, and the bridge spans the Kizu River (bridge length 81.5m).
