Information of surrounding facilities

Amami station opened in March 1915 when the section between Mikkaichicho and Hashimoto opened. Amami Onsen, which is said to be the oldest hot spring in Kawachinagano City, is located on the west side of the station, and has prospered as a hot spring village for a long time. This land is so rich in nandina(nanten in JP) that it is called "Nanten no Sato", and it is cultivated around houses, stone walls, and fields. The flowering season is from June to July, and around December it bears bright red berries, which are used as cut flowers for the New Year and for medicinal purposes.
