Information of surrounding facilities

In July 1949, "Nakamozu Undojo-mae Station" was opened on the north side of this area, but it was abolished nine years later. After that, Shirasagi station was opened in May 1964, along with the construction of the Shirasagi housing complex on the south side. The name of the housing complex and the station was derived from the fact that many herons(Shirasagi) were once seen in the countryside along the railway line. Kanaoka Shrine, located about 1.1 kilometers northwest of the station, is said to have been built during the Ninna era (around 885) in the early Heian period, to pray for the safety of the common people and for a bountiful harvest, by enshrining Sumiyoshi no Okami.
