Information of surrounding facilities
Nakamozu station opened in October 1912, when the Koya Tozan Railway was still in operation. In April 1937, as a project to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the company's founding, the "Nakamozu General Athletic Field" was constructed on the south side of the station. It made a great contribution to the sports world before and after the war, but with the changing times, it changed into a residential area. In November 1970, it was relocated from its original position to the north side and became a bridge-top station building, and in April of the following year, when the Semboku Rapid Railway opened (at that time running between Nakamozu Station and Izumigaoka Station), mutual direct operation began. The keyhole-shaped burial mound, Nisanzai Burial Mound (World Heritage Site), located about 1km southwest of the station, is one of the largest in Japan.
