Rinkanden-entoshi station opened in November 1981 as the gateway to Nankai Hashimoto Rinkan Den-en-toshi, one of the largest residential development projects in the private sector (planned number of units: 11,320 units, planned population: 42,000). The station building, which straddles the canal route, aggregates station functions such as the platform on the first floor, the ticket gates and station office on the second floor. The 3rd floor hall, which is connected from the 2nd floor concourse, has a huge chocolate-colored semi-cylindrical vaulted roof (18.8 meters in diameter and 37.2 meters in length), which has become a symbol of the new town. This station was selected as a certified station in the 4th "Kinki Station 100 Selections" in 2003.
