Information of surrounding facilities

Kita-Sukmatsu station opened in December 1957 as the nearest station to the public corporation Sukematsu housing complex, which was being constructed on the east side of the railway line. The reason why the station name has "Kita(North)" is that the adjacent Matsunohama station was called "Sukematsu" at the time of its opening. Sukematsu Shrine, located just northwest of the station, is said to have been built in the mid-eighth century during the reign of Emperor Shotoku. Furthermore, closer to the coast, there is Sukematsu Park, which has facilities such as a baseball field, traffic amusement park, and swimming pool, and is a place of relaxation for citizens with lush greenery.
