Information of surrounding facilities

In June 1928, when the Koyasan Electric Railway was still operating, the station opened at the same time that the section between Koyashita Station and Kamiya Station (currently Kii-Kamiya Station) opened. It is located between the Iriya Tunnel in the direction of Namba and the Hosokawa Tunnel in the direction of Koyasan. Yasaka Shrine, which is about a 7-minute walk from the station, was built for enrishing Susanoo no Mikoto when Kobo Daishi Kukai, who was training in various places during the Konin era (810-823), visited this place.
The route (approximately 9.9 km, approximately 3 hours on foot) that crosses the Deai Bridge from the station, climbs the valley road along the river, passes through Yatate, and heads for the top of Koyasan is used for hiking as a short model course of "Koyasan Choishimichi".
