Information of surrounding facilities

Izumi-omiya station opened in April 1937. The station name "Izumi Omiya" comes from the fact that "Hyozu Shrine" located about 600 meters northeast is called "Omiya". The main hall of Hyoryu Shrine, built in the Momoyama period, is designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan. The 9 Noh masks made during the Muromachi to the early Edo period that have been handed down as shrine treasures are called 'Amefuri no men (rain masks)' because they were used in Noh performances during rainmaking. Kishiwada Fishing Port, located about 1.2km northwest of the station, was completed in 1966. It boasts one of the largest catches in Osaka Prefecture, centered on the Aguri net (sardine net) fishery.
