Southern is designed by the concept "South Wave".
The blue line leading from the front of the vehicle to the upper side of the vehicle and the rounded blue and orange lines
on the lower side of the vehicle are the "waves" of people and vehicles surging to Osaka Bay and Wakayama, and of
people rushing to South Osaka (Minami) from all over the country.
We will create a new "wave" to South Osaka (Minami) with the new Southern.

Equipped with Plasmacluster technology
Plasmacluster is Installed on the ceiling of each vehicle. It suppresses the action of viruses and decomposes/ removes mold and other fungi to provide a comfortable space.

Seats
Relaxing spacious seats are waiting for you. The headrest wraps around your head so that you will not be disturbed by the sight from behind when you recline your seat.
Table & Outlet
There is a large table where you can put your laptop on the seats. There are also power outlets that can be used freely.
User-friendly functions and equipment
Compared to the 10000 series trains, the difference between the steps and platform has been reduced in the 12000 series, making it safe for customers with small children and wheelchairs to ride.
In addition, we provide transportation services from the perspective of women, such as a multi-purpose room that can be used for changing clothes and breastfeeding, security cameras, etc.

Environmental Initiatives
Prevention of Ozone Depletion
Alternative refrigerant R-407C, which does not deplete the ozone layer, is used as the refrigerant for the air conditioner. Moreover, the heat pipe system which uses pure water is adopted for element cooling of the main control unit and an auxiliary power supply unit.
VVVF Inverter Control
The train equippets a VVVF inverter and uses regenerative braking to reduce operating power consumption. In addition, by allowing the regenerative brake to operate until just before stopping, it is possible to make more effective use of electric power.
Reduction of Vehicle Weight
Power consumption is reduced by using stainless steel for the body. Combined with the VVVF inverter control, it is expected to reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 440t annually compared to the current limited express "Southern" Series 10000.
Noise Reduction
IGBTs (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistors) are used for the semiconductor elements of the main control device, greatly reducing the electromagnetic noise generated when the train starts and stops. In addition, a scroll type air compressor is used to significantly reduce noise.

Where to purchace reserved seat tickets
You may purchace tickets at Namba Station, limited express ticket counters, pink ticket vending machines at major stations, limited express ticket vending machines installed on platforms, and major travel agencies nationwide.
Tickets will be on sale from one month ago.
If there are vacant seats on the day you wish to ride the Limited Express, you can also purchase limited express tickets from vending machines.
