Information of surrounding facilities
Minato station opened in October 1907, when Nankai Railway was still operating. It is said that the name of the station is derived from the fact that the town of Dejima, where the station is located, has been called "Minato Village" since ancient times. In the vicinity of the station, there used to be a forest of windmills that pumped up water from the wells that were used in the fields. Residential areas began to increase in the 1950s, and the windmills are no longer seen today.
