Information of surrounding facilities

Mikkaichicho station opened in October 1914 when the railway line opened from Nagano (now Kawachinagano) Station to this station. This area was a post town for Koyasan pilgrims until Hashimoto Station opened in the following year. The name Mikkaichi, which is also the name of the station, is said to have originated from the fact that a market was once held on the 3rd of every month. Hashigami station building was completed in August 1973 as part of the Koya Line double-track construction. In March of the following year, the section between Kawachinagano and Mikkaichicho was double-tracked. Enmeiji Temple, about 3 kilometers northeast, is known as a famous place for autumn leaves, and is also used as a hiking course because it can be reached in about 40 minutes on foot.

Surrounding Facilities

Eboshigata Park《15 minute walk from the station》

Mt. Eboshigatayama, named for its shape resembling an eboshi hat, is an independent small mountain with an elevation difference of about 50m and an area of about 20ha. It is maintained as a natural ecological observation park. Even though Mt. Eboshigatayama is located in the center of the city, it is composed of near-climax forests of Japanese chinquapin, Japanese red pine, sawtooth oak, and soyogo, and more than 20 species of wild birds have been confirmed to inhabit, including bulbuls, turtledoves, and white-eyes. It is an extremely valuable existence in terms of natural ecology. Please use it as a place to nurture knowledge and creativity while preserving the nature.
