Information of surrounding facilities

Kitanoda station opened in August 1914 (Taisho 3) at the time of Koya Tozan Railway. The current Hashigami station building was completed in May 1970. Proceeding west from the station, you will find the "Omino residential area," which was developed as a luxury residential area in the early Showa period. About 300 meters from the station, on the side of the tracks in the direction of Koyasan, there is a pillar of "Noda Castle Ruins", which indicates that once there was Noda Castle built by Masakatsu Noda, the general of Masashige Kusunoki. In the precincts of Sugo Shrine, located about 1.5 kilometers east of the station, there is a legend where Michizane Sugawara is said to have been born.
