Information of surrounding facilities

Kada station opened in June 1912 when the Kada Light Railway was opened for the purpose of connecting transportation to Wakayama City from Kada, which played the role of a key port connecting Awaji/Shikoku and Honshu. It was also used to transport munitions supplies and soldiers, but after the end of the war, it became popular mainly as a gateway to recreational areas. Every year on March 3rd at Awashima Shrine, which is about a 20-minute walk from the station, the Hina Nagashi Festival is held and is crowded with many visitors. "Kada Beach" attracts many visitors in the summer.
