Information of surrounding facilities

In June 1912, the Kada Light Railway opened. This station opened in December 1930 when it was renamed Kada Electric Railway along with electrification. Kada Electric Railway was merged with Nankai Railway in February 1942 and started operation as the new Kada Line. In October 1944, a freight train was operated between this station and Kinokawa Station. Via this station, Sumitomo Metal Industries Wakayama Steel Works's raw materials and products were transported on the exclusive freight line. In February 1984, the freight business was discontinued due to the drastic reduction of the freight schedule of the former Japanese National Railways.
