In November 1897, Tarui station opened with the opening of the railroad in Tarui Village (at that time), which had been famous for textile production since the Edo period. As the closest station to Southern Beach (Rinku Minamihama Beach), where you can enjoy swimming while looking at Kansai International Airport up close, you can enjoy clam digging in the spring and swimming in the summer. Sports facilities such as the Namihaya Ground and the Southern Stadium (Sennan Municipal Baseball Stadium) are also available around the station. Take a bus from the station to "Kinyu-ji", a plum grove spot, and "Negoro-ji", a famous cherry blossom spot. Every year, a large number of people come to see the cherry blossoms.
