Information of surrounding facilities

Hagurazaki station opened in February 1942 to transport people and construction equipment mobilized to build the former army airfield. The coast near here was once called "Hako Urazaki", but it is said that it was corrupted to become Hagurazaki, and the station name was attached from the place name. The adjacent Hagurazaki Train Garage was completed in August 1955 and can now accommodate 170 cars. Suehiro Park, which is located on the east side of the station, has a full range of public sports facilities such as a general gymnasium, a health promotion center, and a ground. About 2 kilometers southeast of the station is Aritoshi Shrine, whose origins are described in ``Kino Tsurayuki shu'' and ``Makura no Soshi''.
