Information of surrounding facilities

In March 1919, about 20 years after the railway opened, Tottorinosho station opened in what was then Nishi-Tottori Village (now Tottori, Hannan City). The origin of the station's name is unknown, but it is said that it was named because the area around was used to be "Tottorinosho", the manor of Kanshinji. Hofuku-ji Temple, which is just a short walk northeast of the station, is also known as Okiku-dera, and houses a wooden statue of Okiku, who is said to be the child of Toyotomi Hidetsugu and Kogo no Tsubone.
