Information of surrounding facilities

Takojizo station opened in April 1914. "Tako Jizo", which is also the name of the station, is a popular name for "Tenshoji Temple" located about 500 meters west of the station. It is said that when Kishiwada Castle was attacked by an uprising, one daihoshi (an incarnation of Jizo) and thousands of octopuses (tako in Japanese) saved the castle from crisis, so Jizo was enshrined in this temple. The skylight of the west station building has a stained glass with this "Tako Jizo Story". "Kishiwada Danjiri Kaikan" is about 7 minutes on foot from the station. Opened in 1993 as part of the city's 70th anniversary project, you can enjoy the enthusiastic atmosphere of the Danjiri festival all year round in the storehouse-style building.
