Information of surrounding facilities

Kishiwada station opened in October 1897. Elevation of the station began in October 1987. The construction of a parking lot on top of the station was promoted as a continuous grade-separated crossing project which was unprecedented in Japan. The inbound line was completed in May 1992, and the outbound line was completed two years later in July. The Kishiwada Danjiri Festival, which boasts about 300 years of history and tradition, is said to have originated from the Inari Festival held by the lord of the Kishiwada domain, Nagayasu Oka, to pray for a bountiful harvest. Take a bus in front of the station to Mt. Ushitaki, a famous spot for waterfalls and autumn leaves. The Momiji Festival is held in November.
