Information of surrounding facilities

Shichido station opened in April 1917. The origin of the station name is from the place name "Shichido". If you walk east from the station for about 5 minutes, you will find the main house of the Inoue family, commonly known as the "gunsmith's mansion". It is a valuable building that retains the vestiges of a gunsmith's mansion. Although the interior is not open to the public, various large/small guns and manufacturing tools are preserved (Sakai City Designated Tangible Cultural Property). Takasu Shrine, located on the east side of the station, was given to the gunsmith Riemon Shibatsuji, who supplied a large number of guns to Ieyasu Tokugawa, for his achievements. It is said to have been built in 1619, hoping for the prosperity of guns.
