Information of surrounding facilities

Suwanomori station opened in December 1907. At that time, this area was called Funao Village, and it is said that Suwa Shrine, which used to be the village shrine, was the origin of the station name. The platform used to be a relative type, but in 1966, in order to widen the outbound platform, it was moved about 60 meters closer to Namba. The west station building, which has a set of five stained glass windows depicting Awaji Island in the distance beyond the ocean that continues from the white sandy green pine forest, was registered in September 1998 as the first national property of major private railways, along with the Hamadera Park station building. It was selected as a certified station in the 4th "Kinki Station 100 Selections" in 2003.
