"Rapi:t" means rapid in German. The name was chosen in a contest open to the public and was selected from 32,000 responses. "Rapi:t" was seen as conveying a sense of exhilaration together with friendliness. The naming reflects the sense of speed of this airport express, which provides the shortest route between the urban center of Namba and Kansai International Airport.

Ample interior space within a powerful design
The Rapi:t Nankai Airport Express was designed around the concept of "retro-future." The design features an advanced front shape of the train and curves with the human touch, fusing power with speed. One design feature is the train's elliptical windows, inspired by the image of an airliner. The train's top speed is 120 km/h. The service runs directly between Nankai Namba Station and Kansai Airport Station. Well-suited to the cosmopolitan nature of the Namba area and thoroughly designed with an urban sensibility, the Rapi:t represents the most advanced type of rail transport. In addition, its handsome interior offers an ample amount of space. The Rapi:t transports its passengers comfortably as well as speedily, thanks to its comfortable and friendly service facilities and staff.

All 252 seats reserved
All of the seats on the six-car Rapi:t airport express are reserved and nonsmoking. The train is equipped with high-quality and elegant interior equipment and comfortable seats, allowing passengers to relax during their journey. Among the features are overhead bins, like the type found on airliners. Accessibility is provided by such features as special spaces for carry-on bags. In addition, there are card-operated telephones and bilingual electronic displays inside the cars. Equipment for wheelchairs for passengers who need help with mobility is provided. Furthermore, passenger attendants are on duty to provide information and help. This all adds up to a high-quality travel experience.

Fully 54 of the 252 seats on the Rapi:t airport express are executive-style "super seats." Arranged in rows of three, each seat has a pitch of 1,200 mm and width of 485 mm. The spacious layout is in line with executive-style travel and fully provides a sense of luxury during the journey to the airport. The regular-class seating, in rows of four, is also ample, with each seat having a pitch of 1,030 mm and width of 460 mm.

Limited-express and seat-reservation ticket counters on 2nd and 3rd floors of Namba Station; major sales offices of Nankai International Travel; major stations of Nankai Electric Railway; and major travel agencies throughout Japan
*Purchases can be made from as early as one month prior to travel date (Reservations for groups of four or more can be made from as early as three months prior to travel date.)
*If there are vacant seats on the day of travel, you can also purchase your tickets at vending machines that sell reserved seats.
