Takashimaya Department Store

This is a long-established department store, which turns 80 years old in 2010.
Takashimaya continues to maintain its popularity, having been chosen as "my favorite department store" in a poll conducted in 2007 by the Asahi newspaper. Not only does it offer fashion and cosmetic goods, but food products as well.

Hozenji-Yokocho Alley

This elegant stone paved alley is lined with a variety of restaurants, from old establishments to rustic restaurants serving "kushikatsu" (deep fried skewered pieces of meat and vegetables). At a Buddha statue in Hozenji Temple, called Mizukake Fudo, people pray for requited love. The Kamigata Ukiyoe Museum is located at the alley's entrance. There, you can take in the "Osaka Prints" exhibit, which has received acclaim from around the world.

Sennichimae Doguya-suji

This is a district specializing in utensils related to Osaka's cuisine. Tableware, kitchen utensils for home use and other goods can be had here at discount prices.
The perfect souvenir is a key-chain featuring a very realistic-looking "takoyaki," an octopus dumpling and Osaka specialty.
Nippombashi DEN-DEN Town

A district for buying electronics and appliance for many years, now this area is seeing an increase in the number of pop culture-related stores, catering to fans of anime and videogames and maid cafes.
Nipponbashi can now be called "Osaka's Akihabara."
The shop Hero Gangu Kenkyujo offers a full set of dolls portraying heroes and heroines from Japanese anime. Check out the counter at Sakura Osaka, where you can eat instant ramen from all over Japan.

Dotombori
